R.J. McCarthy has been manufacturing school uniforms and outfitting students for over half a century. R.J. McCarthy was founded in 1956 by Bob McCarthy. Bob’s goal was to establish a service-oriented business based on the timeless values of quality, integrity and fairness. We are proud of the strong foundation he built, and are committed to maintaining the McCarthy tradition, while seeking innovative ways to meet the ever-changing needs of our customers.

Today, the company remains family owned and operated with Bob’s wife Kay as Chair and son Martin as President. As Canada’s largest School Uniform supplier, over half a century of experience, onsite manufacturing facilities and a large network of suppliers, McCarthy’s is consistently able to provide high quality products at great value.

Located at 360 Evans Avenue in Toronto, on seven (7) acres of prime commercial property (alongside the Q.E.W), our company owned 80,000-square foot Headquarters is home to our Flagship Location, Call Centre, Warehouse, Factory and Corporate Office.

State-of–the-art in-house embroidery and art services allow us to provide logo designs and embroidery for all uniform items. This allows us to minimize the costs and turnaround times generally associated with out-sourcing, and to more efficiently manage our inventory levels. Most importantly, we can work very closely with our embroidery services to ensure the highest level of quality.

Our advanced computer hub of mainframes, along with our fully networked building ensures that our Showrooms, Call-Centre, and secure On-Line ordering system work harmoniously with our Production, Warehouse, and Shipping Departments—the result being, the timely and efficient delivery of product to our customers.



McCarthy’s has 14 Showrooms across Ontario, and 1 in Vancouver B.C. with plans to expand, as opportunities due to growth present themselves!

In June 2000, McCarthy’s opened its second Showroom in London, Ontario. Due to the success of this store and our Flagship Showroom in Toronto, and to direct response from our customers, McCarthy’s decided to expand our chain by opening additional Showrooms in Sudbury, Mississauga, North Toronto, Peterborough, Cobourg, Cambridge, Ajax, Hamilton, and Vaughan. Each Showroom, open year round, is conveniently located close to the specific school community it services, and each carries a full stock of all proximal schools’ specific embroidered inventory. These showrooms offer convenient one-stop shopping and personalized service from trained and friendly personnel.



McCarthy's has a rich tradition of working closely with students, families, teachers and administrators to provide fundraising support for schools and assistance to students in need. We are committed to maintaining and continuing to develop these important initiatives.
This commitment is expressed in "The R.J. McCarthy Partnership Program"-- an initiative designed to provide various forms of support to improve the quality of student life, and school spirit within our partner schools. Our support includes:

McCarthy’s is aware that there may be those in your school community who require some form of assistance with the purchase of uniform items. We believe that no student should be denied the privilege of participating in a uniform program due to a lack of financial resources. That is why our founder, Bob McCarthy created "The Uniform Assistance Program."
We will work directly with school administration to devise a system of support that will confidentially meet the specific needs of such students. The school’s administration wholly determines which families may require assistance, evaluates the appropriate level of support and notifies McCarthy’s accordingly.
